Hi, I'm Christine and I’m thrilled to be taking on my second Half Marathon on Sunday, March 17th. I've decided to take this opportunity to raise money for and raise awareness about PETA's TeachKind program. 

TeachKind is the humane-education division of PETA, which strives to bring animal rights and compassion into schools. The TeachKind program works with school staff across the country to help them incorporate humane education through replacing animal dissection with humane alternatives, incorporating healthy vegan options in cafeterias, providing educational materials and presentations to teach children about empathy, and much more.

Educators have a lot of influence on children, and it's important to plant seeds of compassion into the hearts of the next generation, so they can make a positive influence on the planet and on the lives of animals. It's especially important to teach children that animals are the same as us in all the ways that matter. Respecting their individuality and their right to live in peace is something all animals deserve.
