Chicago Half for Companion Animals
On September 28th, I'm taking on the Chicago Half to raise awareness for companion animals.
At any given time, there are millions of homeless animals in the US alone. All breeders contribute to the animal overpopulation crisis, and think of it this way: every time someone purchases a puppy or a kitten instead of adopting from an animal shelter, another animal loses their chance of finding a home. That's why adoption is so important!
Another part of this race is to raise awareness for breathing-impaired breeds, like pugs and bulldogs, who struggle to play or even walk because of their "smushed-in" face. No dog should suffer for looks.
The best breed is always rescue🐾
Bottom line: to provide the best protection to companion animals, we need laws that require dogs and cats to be spayed and neutered. That's what it means to treat our animals like true companions <3
