The Fast & The Furriest: 13.1mi for the animals!
dedicating my NYC Half toward non-violence towards all beings
Special Thanks to
dedicating my NYC Half toward non-violence towards all beings
As many of you know, I teach and practice Jivamukti Yoga - a school of yoga that's connected to PETA by the shared rejection of "species-ism", or the idea that only humans and a few furry mammals (like our beloved dogs and cats) are worthy of freedom, happiness, and respect.
Yoga is the process of remembering that we are interconnected with all life. This has the effect of softening our relationship with Earth and all beings. To not take more than we need. To minimize the harm we cause. To bring intentionality and mindfulness to all of our day-to-day decisions, like what we eat, wear, and buy.
As I prepare to run 13.1 miles across NYC, I'm thrilled to be doing so in support of PETA and their work supporting the wellbeing of billions of voiceless animals, like:
- Building shelters for dogs chained out in the cold, plus spay & neuter programs
- Freeing elephants forced to perform in circuses and liberating dolphins & orcas from SeaWorld
- Passing Ryder's law banning NYC horse carriages
I'm grateful for your contributions! Thank you.
