Running to help neglected local animals
I am running the Norfolk Harbor 10K on November 24 to fund PETA's Community Animal Project.
PETA's Community Animal Project has improved the lives of thousands of animals in Virginia and North Carolina by:
- Rescuing animals directly from dangerous situations
- Delivering doghouses, food, water, flea and parasite prevention, straw bedding, and shade for dogs forced to live outside (along with cleaning up piles of feces surrounding their small living space)
- Replacing heavy chains with light-weight tie outs and loosening or replacing ill-fitting collars
- Transporting animals to/from veterinary appointments
- Offering free end of life services
- Offering low/no-cost spay and neuter services
- Educating guardians on proper animal care
- Accepting any animal surrendered into its shelter; regardless of age, illness, or temperment
Please support my run to help this life-changing work to continue. To get an inside look at this incredibly impactful work, watch Breaking the Chain (https://www.breakingthechainfilm.com/).
